Sparta, the city of heroes … ..In mythical Sparta , the “hollow of Lacedaemon”, the area between Mount Taygetus and Mount Parnon, reigned Menelaus, the younger brother of King Agamemnon and wife of the Beautiful Helen. The couple’s peace was disturbed when Paris, led by Aphrodite, who had promised to give him the most beautiful woman in the world, arrived in Sparta. And while Menelaus was absent on a trip to Crete, he was informed by Iris that Paris had kidnapped the Beautiful Helen and had left for Troy, taking with him part of the royal treasures. “Then he immediately returned to Sparta to prepare for the campaign against Troy, thus starting the long, painful and most famous war at the end of the earth and the centuries, the Trojan!”
Indicative excursion program:
1st day Port of Heraklion
Gathering and boarding the ship, settling in the cabins and departure for Piraeus.
2 h day Piraeus-Isthmus of Corinth-Epano Chrepas Monastery Tripoli-Ag. Theodora-Sparta
Arrival early in the morning at the port of Piraeus and departure for the Monastery of Epano Chrepas in Tripoli with a stopover at the Isthmus of Corinth for rest and coffee. Then departure for the church of Agia Theodora. Free time for rest and lunch. Then departure for Sparta. Arrival and settlement at the hotel. Free evening for the first acquaintance with the city.
3rd day Sparta – Monemvasia-Sparta
Breakfast and departure for an excursion to beautiful Monemvasia. Return to Sparta. In the evening Optional night out in a tavern with music in Sparta.
4th day Sparta – Nafplio-Kefalari-Loutraki-Piraeus
After breakfast, we depart from the hotel for Nafplio, tour of the picturesque city, capital of the prefecture of Argolida and the first capital of the Greek state. Then we will leave for Kefalari. In the center of the village dominates a beautiful plane tree covered square whose age of the plane tree (natural monument) exceeds 130 years (planted in 1875 by a street vendor ) and which in summer offers unique coolness, with cafe and grill services. Free time for food. Then we depart for Loutraki and the monastery of Osios Patapios. In the afternoon departure for the port of Piraeus. Boarding the ship. Overnight at sea.
5th day Heraklion
Arrival at the port of Heraklion.
