Indicative Program:
1stday March 23: Gathering at the airport in the morning around 08:30, document check, plf for our entry into the Netherlands and vaccination certificates. Boarding the plane and departure for Amsterdam at 11:50. Arrival in the Dutch capital at 14:40 (local time). Boarding the private car and transfer to the hotel. Arrangement in the rooms (payment of city tax at the hotel reception around 4.00 € per person per day by card). Refreshment and first acquaintance with the beautiful capital. Depart from the hotel by tram and you will find Dam Square with its imposing palace. Walk and free time for coffee, food and beer. Return to the hotel. Overnight.
2ndday March 24: Amsterdam, city tour, Red district Lights
Breakfast at the hotel and departure by tram to delve into the culture of the Dutch capital. First visit to the “Heineken” brewery museum (optional entrance), the imposing history and art museum “Rijksmuseum” (optional entrance) and continue to the Van Gon Museum (those wishing to enter the museum as well as Anne Frank’s house will we must have booked the tickets from Heraklion). We continue in the historic area of the old town where Anne Frank’s house is located, we will cross the homonymous bridges, the towering Western church and we will relax in the cafes on the canals. We continue until the market for our shopping and we will head to the floating central station. Free time to try the Dutch specialty of french fries with hundreds of sauces poured on top. Return to the hotel. Rest. Night out in the famous Red Light District, to enjoy all the spicy spectacles that the area has to offer. The famous red lights in the shop windows are striking opposite the elegant and beautiful old houses in the canals, while even the
fairytale lights lined with bridges, at night they are painted red. Return to the hotel. Overnight Stay.
3dday March 25: Optional excursion to the Keukenhof – Haarlem Gardens
Breakfast at the hotel and departure by tram to Central Station. From there we will take the bus to the most famous park in the Netherlands, the Keukenhof or otherwise the garden of Europe (The transfer together with the entrance to the gardens is 39 € per person). The garden is one of the largest flower gardens in the world, located in the municipality of Lisse, in the Netherlands. According to the official website, Kekenhof Park covers an area of 32 hectares and about 7 million flower bulbs are planted in the gardens annually. Free time to admire different garden styles such as English, Japanese, French etc. Get lost in the magic of the tulip.
Return to ‘Amsterdam either by bus at 13:00 or by afternoon bus at 18:30. If we decide to return at 13:00 we will be back in the capital around 14:00. If you want we can take the train and be in the suburb of Haarlem to admire the highly photographed mill that stands haughtily on the canals. In the Central Square Grothe Markt we will see the huge church of Saint Bavolocated in the heart of the old town. Not only the church, but many monumental buildings are located on opposite sides of the square, and when the weather allows, open cafes are filled. The impressive Gothic church of St. Bavo has been the heart of the city and its main attraction for centuries. Inside the church, most of the old interiors have been preserved, including the large Müller instrument, which has been played throughout its history by Handel, Mozart, Mendelssohn and other celebrities. When this instrument was built, it was the largest in the world, prompting Herman Melville, in Moby Dick’s famous novel, to compare the inside of a whale’s mouth with many of the tubes on Harlem’s large instrument. Free time for food. Return to Amsterdam for our last drink in the city of canals. Overnight.
4dday March 26: Amsterdam – Milan
Breakfast, delivery of rooms and some free time for a coffee before departure. Transfer to the airport and departure for the Italian fashion capital Milan at 14:15. Arrival in Milan at 15:50 and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation arrangement in the rooms. Some time to freshen up and leave for a photo shoot at the Duomo Cathedral and an aperitif at the Rinascente department store. We continue with the metro for dinner on the Navili canal frequented by the locals. Return to the hotel. Overnight Stay.
5thday March 27:
Breakfast, luggage delivery at the hotel reception and departure for Corso Buenos Aires for your first shopping. We continue with the metro to the Sforzesco Castle, tour and descend the street of Dante to La Scala in Milan. From there you will find the Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Montenapoleone and all the vertical roads around the Duomo. Return to the hotel around 15:50 to get our things and leave for the airport. Departure from Malpensa at 19:00 and arrival in Heraklion at 22:45.
